When in Rome |

.......Rome around, get lost! This city is different to all others its like one huge museum. Here's a few of my top 5 things to explore this beautiful destination.

#1 The colosseum of course. The mind blowing structure has your jaw dropped! Layers of history and stories of the people who laughed, cried, and most significantly died. I recommend creating your own tour, looking at what your interested in and saving some cash. As this is super touristy, avoid waiting in stinking hot lines buy your ticket at the Palatino. Palatino is also included in your ticket price and defiantly worth a look around! Tickets for both is €16.

#2 Vatican City.  It's the smallest independent state in the world. St. Peter’s Basilica is the main attraction.

We went on Wednesday, this is the day where the Pope makes an appearance! Which was a truly memorable.
Defiantly try to not sleep in and miss the peak times (especially on Wednesdays) other wise enjoy standing for two hours in disgustingly hot temperates, sweating. Honestly words don't explain how many people are in the square lining up, it nearly outlined the whole city twice. Bring water and enjoy local old ladies trying to push in front of you...pretending not to speak english, very entertaining! Also ladies cover up, show respect or you will be denied entry, there's scarfs to buy there if you didn't bring any long pants on your trip!

#3 Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed as the fountain was under maintenance. However that didn't stop me from being cliche and throwing a coin into the fountain. Have your back to the fountain throw it in, over your shoulder. This is a sure guarantee that you’ll come back to Rome again one day.

#4 Eat lots of gelato!! Being in the capital of Italy, it's crazy not to consume lots of gelato's. Especially if you visit during summer, its incredibly hot, so nothing better than refreshing yourself with homemade gelato.

#5 Stay outside your comfort zone. Try Glamping. We enjoyed this experience so much we used it a lot around Europe. We stayed at Plus Roma, which was really amazing a huge pool to help survive the heat. Buses, restaurant, perfect for young adults as there's a bar and pool parties, during our stay there was a toga party! Perfect for travelling on a budget too, because lets face it you barely spend much time at your accommodation if you are as wonderlust as me....

If I were to visit Rome again I would spend more than 3 days and not visit in the peak of summer.
